Ayurveda is probably the oldest recorded medical system in the world and Indian Head Massage is part of this system. It is used extensively in Asia to combat stress and tension. The therapy has been popular throughout the Indian sub-continent for over 1,000 years, being passed down from generation to generation. In recent years it has been taught in massage schools across Britain.
Often in conditions of stress, anxiety, insomnia and muscular tension, the symptoms may be relieved using Indian Head Massage, by working over acupressure points in the areas being worked upon.
In modern life stress levels can be quite high and many people hold tension in their upper back, shoulders, neck and scalp. By using Indian Head Massage and working over the upper back, shoulders, upper arms, neck, face, ears and scalp the tension may be released. Periods of stress free time enables the body’s self- healing mechanism to work more effectively.
There are some contra-indications for people with some conditions and I will discuss this with you.
If you have any questions regarding the therapy please call or email me.
